Michael goes to get a hotel room at the “Chadwick Hotel” but his credit cards are
turned down. This was filmed at the Murano Grande condos, 400 Alton Road at the south
end of SoBe. This took me longer to figure out than it should have since it is the
same building that we later see Sam and Michael talking by the pool. Not to long

Michael goes to the bank to get his funds. I just found this location (05/25/2010) it is the Alfred DuPont/Florida National Bank and Trust Building (1939) located at 169 E Flagler Street, Miami. This building was also used in both Bad Boys movies as the police station.
Michael gets a free hat and directions to a pay phone. This was filmed on Deco (Ocean) Drive at 8 Street in Sobe.
Michael heads for the beach motel.
The Miami Sands Motel is where Michael decides to make camp. In real life it is The Diane Motel on Hollywood Beach. The same motel that they filmed the scene where Michael looks out the window and spots the agents watching him. By comparing the screen capture below to the pictures, you can see where they removed part of the motel's sign (The Diane) leaving only Motel and added the name Miami Sands lower down.
In the picture below the blue arrow points to where we first see Michael walking along the boardwalk. The light green arrow points to The Diane Motel.

Michael uses a couple of kids to tie up the FBI Agents while he gets away. This view looking east on Minnesota Street toward the ocean.

On the left is the the screen capture from the show. On the right is a picture I took on 02/11/2009. Pretty much the same but the palm trees have grown.
This building is located on SE 14th Street at the intersection of Brickell Bay Drive.
Lucy sets Michael up with a job lead with his old buddy Sam Axe. The Meet with Sam was filmed at the Majestic on Sobe. Deco Drive and 7 Street.

The house is on Star Island. Number 13.
Michael gets a better place to set up camp.
His new base camp was filmed on location at 528 NW 7th Ave. in Miami.
Next, we see Michael takes his mother to the doctors in a stolen car.
In the first cut they are northbound on NW 9th Court toward NW 11th Street in Miami.
The second cut was filmed at the same location and shows that Michael is being followed by FBI clowns. The FBI pulls in behind them from NW 7th St. Rd.
The third cut was filmed in the 900 block of NW 7th Street Road. Michael is headed eastbound, as seen below.
Cuts 4 thru 10 are also all in the same NW 9th Ct / NW 7th Street Road neighborhood. Miami Vice fans know this area as Maynard's Island.

The red arrow indicates where the third cut was filmed.
